Coming out in many situations means being kicked out of their home, losing friends, being harassed, teased, and unaccepted by those around them.
When coming out these youth need the support that they need from those who love them most because at this time he or she may attempt suicide due to the harassment and maltreatment of those who surround them.

Picture
When a LGBT youth decides to come out about his sexuality he or she is most afraid about what his parent is going to think or do. Having their parents acceptance is most important to LGBT youth because they are the ones who care for them. To lose a parents acceptance could be the hardest thing for a youth to deal with with. In many cases LGBT youth are kicked out of their home because the parent doesn't accept their lifestyle. When this happens the child is in high risk of committing suicide because he or she has lost the support of the person he or she needed most. For a parent it is hard to deal with their child being gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender because the parent fears for their child's acceptance in society. A parent knows when being considered gay in society one is going to experience a lot of hard ship and they don't wish this upon their child Apart from the worry of having their child be accepted in society, parents are also concerned about the extended family and how they may react to the situation. When a child comes out to their parent the best a parent could do is accept their child or who they are and offer their support.
